hey there, three-year-old!

It's been a cupcake-present-filled kind of day today!

We started out with presents FIRST thing this morning.  (Notice it's still DARK in the background!?) 

New Thomas jammies, a Chuck and Friends garbage truck, and a very cool fire station!

Lunch and playtime at our friend Hannah's house, complete with cupcakes for dessert!

What? More dirty fingers? Daddy's hamburgers for dinner (at Tanner's request) and MORE CUPCAKES for dessert!!!

back to school! 2nd grade!!!!!

He got up and out the door like a champ today! We walked in to school with Bryce today, and got him safely settled in his new class.  His best friend, Emma, is in his class, which we are THRILLED about. It's a small class - only 17 kids so far, and one teacher. (Much better than last year's 36 kids and 2 teachers!)  And Bryce thinks it's pretty big stuff, that his class is on the second story.  No more first floor with Kindergarten and First grades!!! We are hopeful and encouraged that it's going to be a GREAT year.  His teacher has been teaching for 22 years, and she loves second grade.  I am going to be one of her room moms this year, so hopefully I'll be able to be in the classroom every so often! 

Here's the big second grader!

Just like last year, Tanner will want HIS backpack every day, as well as his lunchbox, packed with fruit snacks and a Capri Sun to drink.  He busted into his fruit snacks on the way home this morning, after we dropped B off.  Silly little boy!

I think he was DONE with photo ops at this point!

the wild animals at the zoo

perhaps it goes without saying, but the most wild animals at the zoo were. . . .our children! 

i took the boys to the zoo. we wandered for a little while and looked at the animals,  and then played at the splash park, the playground, and we brushed the goats in the petting area.

I am starting a Wish List on Amazon, for Tanner's birthday, (and I'm starting one for Bryce too, while I'm at it!) Many of these things can be purchased other places, but at least it keeps everything in one place! (Hopefully even if you buy it somewhere else, you should be able to mark it as "purchased". I think!) This will be ongoing, and we'll keep it up till Christmas time!  Feel free to check it out if you are looking for gift ideas along the way.

FYI. . . We have PLENTY of Duplo Legos, and plenty of trains/train tracks.   :)
