Now that I am 17 months old. . .

I hijacked Eric's computer to try and update the blog! Tanner wanted to share some of the new things he does, now that he is 17 months old. So without further ado, here's Tanner. . . . .

Now that I am 17 months old. . . .

I like to copy Bryce. Bryce likes to pretend he is throwing up. And then I do it right after him. We both think it's hilarious. Mommy and Daddy think it's pretty funny too, but they try not to make a big deal about it, otherwise Bryce will do it OVER and OVER again. (And then I do too!) They get REALLY mad when we do it at the dinner table.

I also like to say, "Ooooooooooh!" after Mommy and Daddy say it (except it sounds like "vvuuuuuuu!") They tend to say this, when I am climbing onto a chair, or going over the side of the couch. And this leads me to my next trick . . . .

There's this chair, next to the couch. Mommy and Daddy put it there, to block the really fun cabinet where they keep the DVD's. (And I really like to play with DVD's) So once I figured out how to climb onto chairs, I realized I could climb onto the chair, and then hurdle myself over the side of the couch. I roll off, shimmy down the couch, and then do the whole thing again. And if someone forgets to tuck the chairs in at the dinner table. . .I climb up on the dinner table. And THAT, my friends, is serious fun! (And it makes Mommy CRAZY. I love it!)

I am still pretty obsessed with dogs and cats and birds. Although I am really not liking those dumb dogs at Gigi and Doobie's house. They are BIG. And they get in my face. And they run. And they bark. But if I see a dog outside, I really like to talk to it, and chase it, and tell everyone about it. I say "DAH!" And then I say something that resembles "Ruff ruff".

Not really diggin' the cows milk that Mommy keeps trying to give me in my sippy cup. I'll take a couple of sips, to make her think I might drink it. But then I throw it on the floor. It's kind of gross.

Playing ball, and running outside are the BEST. Stacking blocks and reading books are pretty cool too.

Mommy is sad because she says I'm losing the last roll of chub on my ankles. I think I'll be able to pick up more chicks without ankle rolls though, so I'm pretty cool with it. I've been working out. I'm pretty buff.

Did I mention I really like to CLIMB on everything? Beds, tables, buckets, the big red wagon that lives in our living room . . . .climbing is good.

I know lots of sign language - some of it I made up myself. And most signs have a word that goes with them. But people tell me that some of the words sound the same. But they are SO different. They just don't understand. I can sign, "More", "All done", "Sleep", "Thank you" (that's my newest one!) "bird", "cup", and "milk" (from mommy). I wave bye bye, and I have a little head-shake thing I do for a horse. I can also pretend to be an elephant with a long trunk.

I have also learned how to BITE. And that makes everyone mad. Especially Bryce. But sometimes, I can't get him off of me. He is always tackling me, and knocking me down. So I am learning to retaliate. (Big word for a one year old, huh?) And sometimes my teeth just really bug me. I am getting molars now, and they just need to BITE THINGS. So you people will have to deal with it.

And sleeping. . . . I slept one night last week. From 7:45, until 5am. And it rocked. But once was enough for that. I think I'll stick with waking up a few times every night.

I'm feeling fussy now, so I think I'll stop blogging. I'm going to sign milk, and cry at my Mommy. She thinks we better get off the computer. She says we are probably going to get a new computer soon, so then she will be able to post more pictures. (Once she figures out how to use a Mac.)

I love you and miss you, and send you all big slobbery kisses!
Love, Tanner

Checkup Day!

Both boys had their checkups today. Bryce, for his 6 year old checkup, and Tanner for his 15 month checkup (a little late, so that we could take both boys at the same time!)

Tanner:
weight-25.4 lb (50th percentile. . . remember when he was 97th?!)
height - 34.5 inches (97th percentile!!!!!!!)
had three shots, which he was less than pleased with, but he settled down quickly!

Bryce:
got a A+ ;)
weight - 42.4 lb (25-50th percentile)
height - 46.5 inches (75th percentile! where did we get these TALL kids?!)

Bryce had to wear a little paper gown, which he was LESS than pleased with, but he handled it like a champ. He had a great sense of humor about it, instead of pitching a fit (thank goodness!) He's had some sort of little bug this week, but he seems to be doing better. He's going to take the rest of the day off from school, because it's early dismissal day. So rather than go to school for three hours, he's going to relax at home one more day and start fresh tomorrow!

snowy B

I went CRAZY taking pictures out in the snow. especially of bryce - because he is much more cooperative than tanner. and today i installed my new Photoshop Elements 9.0 and played around a little bit to figure things out. (I have a LOT to learn.) But here is one quick picture I edited and played with this afternoon! Love this cute kid! (Especially when he isn't being sassy and difficult!)

happy new year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
we're home sweet home.
we figured we may as well come back, since the snow melted! (wink wink!)
we had THE best time.
all-time favorite trip to the cabin.
EVER.
great weather, great food, great family, great fun.
but i think we're all agreed - as much as we LOVED the snow. . .
we are SO glad we don't LIVE in it.
snow pants on.
snow pants off.
gloves on.
gloves off.
wet snow.
wet mud.
dirty shoes.
dirty bottoms.
wet jeans.

but it was worth EVERY snowy wet muddy second of it!
thanks mom and dad for the BEST white Christmas!
XOXOXO
