We took a whirlwind three-day trip to NY (just outside of Ithaca) to visit Grandpa Williams. Bryce did REALLY well on his first plane trip, and was a real champ throughout all the traveling. Bryce and I had never been to Grandpa's old farm, and it was fun to see! We also got to see where Eric's dad went to school, at Cornell, walked around downtown Ithaca, saw some AMAZING waterfalls, played at Grandpa's pool table, and enjoyed all the family that was there! We got home LATE the night before Christmas Eve. We had a very nice Christmas - Santa filled Bryce's stocking with all sorts of goodies (Thomas the Tank soap, a snowman sippy cup, a chef's hat, a new toothbrush, etc!) We were totally spoiled with gifts and yummy foods with Eric's family today, and tomorrow we hit the road for our second Christmas in NC with my parents! PHEW. Here are some quick pics from New York. Christmas pics will have to wait - the need for sleep is winning out! Merry Christmas to ALL, and to all a GOOD NIGHT! I hope your holiday was filled with as much love, family, and fun as ours was!

Oh Christmas Tree - Oh fuzzy Christmas Tree

These pictures are terrible. . .. but I love them. Which therefore makes them NOT terrible. I wanted to capture the tree withOUT the flash. I hate the way the flash makes things look. THIS is the way the light looked in my living room last night, and if I had used the flash it would have looked AWFUL. So, now that I have given you my little discussion, HERE are some photos of our tree! Bryce is totally into checking out the decorations. (And there are more pics of the decorations on my blog) We are really happy with our tree - it is the perfect shape and size for us. And it smells Oh-so-yummy! 10 days till Christmas!!! Are you ready!!!???

The Goats at the Zoo

the day before bryce's birthday party we took my parents to the zoo. it was seriously only about 40 degrees, but we decided we were going. . .so we WENT. (we were about the only ones there, and that was nice!!!) the highlight was definitely petting the goats, and seeing the baby goats. . .they were SO cute, frolicking and jumping around their mommy. i really wanted to take one home! :) (that would have lasted until they started pooping everywhere and eating everything) bryce wanted to give all the goats hugs, and they all tolerated it quite politely!

Thanks to everyone who has helped us celebrate this week!! The whole week has been like a giant PARTY!!! Bryce was apparently so excited before his party, that he decided not to take a nap. (Ironically, a few of his friends decided to do the same) so there were some tired tots yesterday afternoon, but Bryce fell asleep at 6:45, and didn't wake up until EIGHT AM. . .seriously here, this is a LIFETIME record of his two years of life. I still can't quite believe it. I guess we tired him out yesterday!!!! Special thanks to those of you who came from far far away to join in the monkey business!!! birthday gifts!

the birthday gifts have been rolling in, and bryce is LOVING all the excitement and packages to open!!! thank you thank you!!! he has gotten some fun new trains to add to his collection (especially loving the circus trains, sabrina!!!) a new farm with animals, and a very cool Ikea expandable container to store things in, that looks like a turtle!!! (and makes an excellent hat!)

I am MOMMY!

Being that yesterday was Bryce's second birthday, he apparently decided that he is much too old to be calling me MAMA. . . .somehow all the sudden, on the way to dinner last night, I became MOMMMY. good grief. at any rate, Bryce enjoyed some celebratory ice cream last night to commemorate his birthday! we had a nice night together, and then dragged eric back home to do his schoolwork all night. (yes all night as in LITERALLY all night.) Today is his last class for the semester though! It's a HAPPY DAY!!!!!

PS i am glad i got so many comments on the dancing elf post. . .i guess if i were that funny all the time, i would always get that many comments???? :)
